Discovering the Cote du Penthievre and the wonderful Cap d'Erquy.

Why to visit the Cote du Penthievre?

Even in a cloudy day the Coast between Pléneuf-Val-André and the Cap d'Erquy looks fantastic.

West than St Malo and Dinard and North than Lamballe one of the most beautiful stretches of the Brittany's Coast welcomes you: the Cote du Penthievre (the Coast of Penthievre).

Beautiful golden sand makes the beaches unique and the panorama scenic and wild.

Why the Cap d'Erquy is so famous?

The Cap d'Equy it is dramatic, wild and isolated even more in a cloudy day at the end of the summer.

The heather is already in flower decorating with a beautiful violet shade the cliffs.

They say that near Cap d'Erquy, exposed at the wind and at the wild sea, was the village of the comix Galois heros Asterix and Obelix, fighting Caesar and the Roman Empire.

We don't know if that is true or not, but this cliffs are arguably one of the most inspiring in Brittany.

It is a wonderful contrast between the golden of the sand, the light blue of the sea and the violet of the heather.

Even the little sea side resort of Pléneuf-Val-André and Erquy have a special charme at the end of the summer.

The promenade in Pléneuf-Val-André is deserted and no one is walking along the beautiful beach.

In the little harbour the fishermen are waiting better weather to take the sea at Erquy.

From the path the views are wonderful and they are certainly worth the visit.

What else you can see after having visited the Coast of Penthievre?

You can drive West along the Coast towards Dinard and St Malo or you can visit the wonderful Medieval town of Dinan or move South towards the beautiful town of Lamballe and Montcontour with its beautiful cottages.

A special thanks goes to Patrick Crehin and his wife from Lamballe. Thanks a lot Patrick to make us discover Dinan and the Coast of Penthievre.
